Product review: Mario Badescu rose mask and mist duo

I’m a pretty latecomer to Mario Badescu skincare, you may remember the review I did on their drying lotion last year which you can see if you click here, I now thought it was about time I explore some of their other products and plan on trying more of their range in the future, I decided to buy their rose mask and mist duo after hearing great things about the facial sprays and face masks which can be bought separately aswell as together. I decided to go for rose as it is not only the most popular and talked about but I also thought it would be most suited to my skin concerns as it is used to replenish moisture and brighten the skin, this includes the facial spray with aloe vera, herbs and rose water and the rose hips mask. Rose is ideal if you have dry or combination skin, other options in the mist and mask duos are cucumber which is designed for oily skin and lavender which is for all skin types.

Facial spray with aloe vera, herbs and rose water

I’ve wanted to try this since the first time I saw it but it’s been a long time coming, now I’ve tried it, I’m obsessed, you can use it in so many different ways, it hydrates but isn’t a moisturiser and it tones but isn’t a toner, it can’t replace any product in your skincare routine but it can be used as a make up setting spray, to hydrate and refresh your skin throughout the day, after moisturising to lock in moisture, you can spray it on your brushes while applying eyeshadow/highlighter as it makes the pigments much stronger or onto your foundation brush for a nice dewy finish, even though it is a facial spray it can also be used on your body when you get out of the shower to relieve that tight feeling or when you’re out in the sun to give your skin that hydration boost, it can also be used to spritz on the ends of your hair if they are a bit dry to give it a bit of hydration and shine. This product is great if you have sensitive skin like me, it smells beautiful but once it settles on your face you can’t smell the rose scent at all, only when you first spray it, promise. If you have oily skin, this spray is suitable for you but don’t use too much of it as it can make your skin look more oily than dewy if used on top of make up, just use a little bit, if you have dry skin it is perfect as it helps revive dehydrated skin and is infused with herbal and botanical extracts that help soothe and re energise the skin, I’ve found since using this, my skin looks so much healthier and glowy, I also find it calms down redness thanks to rose water’s anti inflammatory properties. If you want to improve your complexion, have more hydrated skin, have your make up looking more dewy or any of the reasons I said you can use it, I definitely recommend this facial spray.

Rose hips mask

I tend to avoid face masks as I have such sensitive skin but I was recommend to try this one for my skin and I can say it is amazing and so gentle, it doesn’t sting or irritate, it is in fact soothing and calming instead and also to add very moisturising. After using this mask my skin feels smoother, softer and more hydrated, it is infused with rose hips (rich in vitamin C) which helps even out the skin tone and kaolin clay which lifts impurities from pores, I’ve found it has helped with dryness and congestion, if you have dehydrated or dull skin, this mask works wonders, after using it a few times, you will have a brighter, healthier complexion, it also cleans your pores really well and even though it is hydrating, it drys out your spots, I recently had a breakout and this has really helped get rid of it. This mask isn’t too thick or too runny, it applies really well and it also smells lovely too. All you need to do is apply a thin layer onto cleansed skin, avoiding the eye area, leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with warm water, for best results use it 2 to 3 times a week.
